10 oclock on a monday night
so its been a while. i felt like writing an update. its cool to know what the artist is thinking while making the art. the thoughts, the struggles, the inspirations...ive been blessed. some of you actually read these. i appreciate it. im about to be 46 years old in a few days. its been a bumpy ride. which i try to put into perspective on my bitthdays. where ive made it this far. no partner or children is hard. but i have a large family with nieces and nephews. so i get by. but what i really want to discuss is why i continue to chose to make art. i dont consider myself a very successful artist. but i have a small following and im satisfied. art is very hard for me. im not good at it. but im very determined to be good at it. art is a hard field to begin with. in addition, theres not much of a matket for conceptual artists to make money in. the good artists and the lucky artists make all the money. Art is also very difficult because i cant concentrate very well. ull see a struggle in a lot of my pieces. But i love it. if uve been a long for this ride, ull know i like the long difficult path. i dont know why. i just do. i can let u in on a little advice if ur like me and take the difficult path...when u struggle with something it only makes u stronger. thats true with disabliities, thats true with spirituality, everything. its like the saying say...what dont kill u, makes u stronger. so, persevere. im behind u. im also praying for u, for da, and for the community we have here. were a fanily. thank u for listening. and please...keep me in ur prayers as well.

thought itd be interesting to post what artists influenced me in my work. Painting and Illustration together. God before any other. that goes without saying. without thew Lord I wouldnt even be here. 1- Michelangelo I loved that he worked for the church. 2- van Gogh's brushstrokes 3- The style of Howard Chaykin. 4- the anatomy exaggeration of Mark Bagley 5- Joe Madureira the Manga Artist 6- Erik Larsen 7- Mary Cassatt 8- the Portraits of Lucian Freud Recently, 9- the portraits of Former President G W Bush and finally 10- my Mother who puts her heart and soul into everything. Of course there are more. these artists will always stick out in my mind too.
